Ibis Styles Sapporo Hotel, Hokkaido Japan: Winter 2017
We have been to Sapporo last year May'16 and stayed in this wonderful Dormy Inn Premium Hotel in Tanukikoji Shopping Street. However, we want to experience a different environment where it is nearer to a park rather than shopping street. Hence, we found a good ranking hotel near Nakajima Park, the Ibis Styles Sapporo Hotel. It was ranked 3# out of 163 hotels in Sapporo by Tripadvisor as of our time of visits.
Getting there
It is quite convenient to go to the hotel from the New Chitose Airport. We went to the 1F Domestic (JAL) Arrival hall to look for the bus ticket counter. We bought our tickets from Hokuto Airport Liners for the Sapporo downtown Nakajima route bus at ¥1,030 per person (there are only two bus operator and the charges are the same but with different schedule, plan your time carefully as the interval can be up to 30 minutes).

After purchasing the tickets, we went to bus stop number 14 for our bus to Nakajima. There is this controller who manages the queue and advise the customers on which bus they should be boarding. He also helped all the passengers to arrange the baggage to be loaded into the bus when the bus arrive. The bus came on time (in Japan, on time means really on time. If it stated 12.42PM, the bus will arrive sharp at 12.42PM).

Okay, we finally arrived at the nearest bus stop to our hotel. This is where we get down from the bus and took our luggage. First encounter with the snow at an unknown place searching for our hotel. Luckily, the signage was significant and we easily found the direction to Ibis Styles.

We arrived at Ibis Styles Sapporo Hotel. We booked the hotel via Expedia.com and cost us RM250 per night (with free breakfast). Check-in was fast and we got a spacious room at 11th floor with city view, facing the Susukino ferries wheel and the JR Tower.

Next, we immediately went for a walk at the Nakajima Park before sunset.
Hi Joe, i will go to Ibis Style Hotel from Chitose Aiport via bus this coming December. Can you describe way to Hotel from this bustop. Hopefully, i will not lost to find the way.
You don't have to worry because the bus will passes the hotel before making a stop. Basically the route will be from Sapporo station straight down the road to Nakajima. The moment you see Ibis Style on your left, the bus will then make a left turn at the Nakajima Park junction and stop. From there, you just have to walk from where the bus turned to get to the hotel main entrance. You won't miss it :) Enjoy your Winter holidays!
I booked in November 2016 for this Jan'17 trip. I think I was quite lucky to get that promotion price on Expedia. The price is the main factor for us to take the risk to stay at Nakajima because it is far from Sapporo Station. Since then, the price has gone up...even if I want to return to Ibis Style, the price is just too costly compare to other hotels nearer to Odori.
that was consider quite last min booking, isn't it? I am finding hotel for a group of 13 pax. Think I have to book accommodation earlier.right? We plan to take bus and self drive, think Sapporo Station is not so important for us. Just the price still quite pricey...
Not sure if it is considered as last min booking but for me, I usually plan for my trip 2-3 months in advanced. I cannot drive on icy road so the access to subway is important for me. Hope you manage to get a good deal for a big group. Happy holidays!
